Most new car brokers do not take trade
ins, but we do. Most brokers don’t do a lot of things
that we do for our clients, here at Sharp Cars! We cover
all the bases, including buying and paying off your old vehicle,
reconditioning it and wholesaling it for you. But, we do more
than just that. For instance, we have an advantage being located
in the middle of the state. Here’s why: Used two wheel
drive SUV’s re-sell better in Southern California. Four
wheelers sell better near the mountains or the beach. Volvos
sell best in the Central Coast. Mercedes do well in LA, but
better in the Bay Area. Japanese cars do best in the Central
Valley. High mileage 4 wheel drive vehicles sell best near Reno.
Pickups sell best in the Farm Belt of California. We’re
right in the middle of all of these places. You trade in a 2
wheel drive Ford Explorer, we can have it on one of our trailers
on its way to LA in a day or two, netting you, possibly, hundreds
of dollars more than if we had sold it for you in a different
market. Your next trade in might head out-of-state, and so on.
A good price on the right new vehicle plus the right financing
is nice, but the old car is an important part of the equation
as well.
Obviously, you will get more for
the old car, if you retail it yourself. Whoever does the selling
work gets a “piece” of the selling price in exchange
for their labor. We can advise you regarding market conditions
and timing, what to do to your car to spend the least and get
the most for it, and sometimes, we even have a client who is
looking for a car like yours!! On the other hand, if we can
get you enough money for the old car through our skills in selling
to other dealers, then you may not want to go to the trouble
of selling it, yourself. We often do that! You just trade it
in and we apply the value toward your new vehicle.
What’s more, if your
car becomes an insurance total loss, we can lead you through the
process of selling it to the insurance company and getting top
dollar from them. We are also very active in accepting vehicles
for donation to charities. This is tax deductible for you, and
a blessing to people who are doing truly important work. Sometimes,
you may net a better return by donating the car than by trading
it in. Even if you don’t, you’ll be doing something
VERY special for others more needy than you might be.
Since we dispose of a lot
of used vehicles, we are very familiar with the market. If it
would benefit you to wait a month or two to get a better price
for your old car, we will tell you. You are free to do what you
want with it… we’re mostly concerned with letting
you know what will net YOU the best return out of your old car!!
